Shipping and Inventory

  At His Music Place we have developed what we believe is the most advanced inventory and distribution control system in the industry. We fill orders placed on this site through a network of independent distributors who keep us electronically informed of their inventory and ability to ship each product they offer. At the end of each business day we route every order to the most efficient distributor for shipment to you, the customer. This could mean that we order from one of the major distribution houses, or from the Christian bookstore just around the corner. The point is, we know where the product is and can get it to you. Our distribution network is a great strength, but also a possible weakness because we don't have control over the actual shipment of your product. That's why its so important that we hear from you! We are constantly refining the system to offer you better service and our aim is to be the best so if you have any comments, please share them with us!

  Following are explainations of some of the shipping and inventory terms we use on the site:

Inventory Status

Excellent - Items with excellent inventory are those that are in plentiful supply at our major distributors, or which can be filled through a number of alternative distributors. The chance that these items will be backordered is minimal.

Good - These items show adequate inventory at one or more distributor, but there usually a limited number of distributors that carry the product, or no single distributor that holds a large inventory. These items may be backordered, but it is not likely.

Limited - Only limited inventory of the product (usually less than 25 units) is available at any one distributor, and the product is available through a small number of distributors. Because at least one distributor shows inventory we will take orders for these products, but there is a good chance that these items will be backordered. You will receive an e-mail notice the day after the order is placed informing you if the item is backordered.

Extremely Limited - Usually these products are available from only one source, and even that source cannot confirm inventory or hasn't confirmed their inventory of the product within the past 30 days. You should expect that this item will be backordered. We will send you an e-mail the day after you place the order if it will be backordered.

Out of Stock - This item is not presently in stock at any of our distribution sources, but one or more source indicates that it can be backordered. These items are usually still in print, but sold out of the marketplace and often must be rerun by the manufacturer. Backorder times could vary from 6 weeks to 6 months. We will take orders for out of stock items and will not charge your credit card (or cash your check) until we ship the item. We suggest you do NOT count on receiving these items any time soon. We accept orders as a courtesy to the customer, but not out of abundant confidence of our ability to fill the orders.

Out of Print - These items were once available through our distribution network but are no longer being produced by the manufacturer and are no longer in stock at any location we are aware of. We do not take orders for these items, though they may be available used. You may send an e-mail to the webmaster requesting that we research a product, but the chances of finding it are not good. Because these items are no longer in print, they cannot even be backordered.

Shipping Times

Shipping Days - When we indicate a number of shipping days for a product, it is the number of business days it takes the product to ship from the distributor we plan to fill the order from. Orders generally ship by either US Mail or UPS ground and usually take 2-3 days to arrive at their destination using those methods, but can take as much as a week. Alternate shipping methods such as Federal Express, US Priority Mail or UPS Overnight are available upon request, but these methods do not decrease the number of shipping days it takes our distributors to ship a product. Especially with larger orders, we may hold items that would have arrived sooner and ship them with the full order if it seems appropriate. We will attempt to expedite shipment of a particular item if possible upon request.
